If you’re using only safety glasses and a mask,
you probably are NOT!
Medical / Dental Applications
Title 29 of the OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 1910.1030 States:
“The employer shall provide the employee appropriate personal protective equipment” that “does not permit blood or other potentially infectious materials” to reach the employee’s “skin, eyes, mouth or other mucous membranes under normal conditions of use.”
Safety glasses and masks protect the eyes, nose and mouth from infectious materials but not the facial skin around the area of coverage. If blood or saliva splatter reaches the exposed zones of the forehead, cheeks or neck you are NOT in compliance with OSHA standards.
The Bio-Mask™ face shield was designed by a former Federal OSHA Inspector and Industrial Hygienist to solve this problem.
We believe our unique face shield system is the most comfortable, best functioning and most economical way to meet and exceed the current OSHA standards.
Most importantly, it is the right thing to do!

General Industry / Medical / Dental Applications
General Industry standards must also be met by the medical and dental professions and all related fields.
OSHA regulations require employers to provide all employees with eye and face protection whenever necessary to protect against chemical, environmental, radiological or mechanical irritants and hazards.
OSHA Standard 1910.132 (General requirement) States:
Personal protective equipment for eyes, face, and head, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation, or physical contact. The use of a proper face shield will meet the standard for facial protection; safety glasses and a mask will probably NOT.
OSHA Standard 1910.133 (Eye and face protection) States:
"The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye and face protection when exposed to eye and face hazards from flying particles, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. The use of a proper face shield will meet the standard for facial protection; safety glasses and a mask will probably NOT.
The employer shall ensure that each affected employee who wears prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that can be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the protective devices. The use of a proper face shield is a perfect way to meet this OSHA standard.
